Day 7 - Kingman

Today was filled with help from people I don't even know.

I spent the morning catching up with work and friends while Pierre and Edie made a trip to Vegas for a VA appointment. Then Pierre drove me into town to try and get my broken spoke fixed.

The closest bicycle shop was no longer there - thankfully:) - because then we headed to Bicycle World in Kingman.

All I have to say is 'Ed is a wizard'. I went in hoping he would be able to help me get my broken spoke fixed. He diagnosed my problem without even having the bike there - only the wheel, replaced 8 spokes!, then proceeded to charge me $8. It looks my repeated chain drops on the way to work, while annoying, actually were severely grinding my spokes; almost all of them behind the cluster were ready to snap at any moment!

In the short time we were there, I feel like I learned so much from Ed. He just kept rattling off info, and it was so good I had to take notes to keep up. I can't say enough how much I appreciate his help, dropping everything to get us right.

Thanks a million Ed! And, I hope to see you in Whistler next summer so I can repay the favor.
